VOLUNTEER
“When I first started volunteering for Aiken Senior Life Services, I knew I would be delivering meals, but what I really deliver is joy. I’m often the only person the seniors on my route see all day. The smile on their faces when they greet me at the door is so rewarding, and I often think the interaction is more fulfilling to them than the meal I bring.” -Arthur W. (Buzz) Rich
Meals On Wheels
Meals on Wheels has been guided by a single goal since the first known U.S. delivery in 1954 – to support our senior neighbors, and to extend their independence and health as they age. Volunteering with our Meals on Wheels program is an experience that allows you to build unique relationships with local seniors which, in turn, helps meet their social needs while also providing them with a nutritious meal.
Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver meals to local seniors Monday through Friday between 10:30 and 11:30 am in their own vehicles. Deliveries typically take less than an hour, and usually consist of no more than 10 stops. Volunteers use their own coolers when delivering meals, one for hot foods and one for cold, but are provided with them if needed. Route information and directions to recipient's homes are also given to each volunteer when delivering meals. Cat and dog food is delivered when available, as well as a copy of the Aiken Standard for seniors who are interested.

Enrichment
If you have a heart for seniors and want to give back to the community in a meaningful way, this is the opportunity for you! This Opportunity allows for volunteers to assist ASLS in ways that may include leading activity sessions, assisting with upcoming events, putting on performances, and more. This is ideal If you have a skill to share, or an idea that you feel would benefit our senior community. We would love your assistance in making this program as beneficial to our seniors as possible.

Let's Go Bingo
Let's Go Bingo is a new bingo operation that is hosted and coordinated by Aiken Senor Life Services. Games are held every Monday evening from 6pm - 8pm with the exception of Holidays. Volunteers would arrive early to help set up, operate one of the various stations (i.e. check in, ticket sales, floor runner, ball caller, etc.), and help break down after. However volunteers can opt to help with one or more parts of said process depending on their availability.
